Harry Potter, Anyone -- Everyone??

Who read the last installment of the Harry Potter series: Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows? Was this volume a satisfying end to the series? The book tackled issues like self sacrifice and honor for the greater good along with the destruction of families through the horror of war. In his final battle, Harry displays courage in the face of an unbeatable enemy… death.

Let's talk structure and vocab! How was the flow and use of language in the book? Is this one series that makes one want to look up a word so it can truly be understood or find those clues that foreshadow events? Should we teach these books in school because they teach good lessons and proper use of the English language?

So let's pose some more questions to get a discussion going:

If you could change something about the ending, what would it be?

What was the true significance of the Hallows?

What was your favorite book in the Harry Potter series and why?

I think this book as a poor end to the series. many loose ends were tied up but it was not the spectacular end i was expecting from J.K.

I disagree with anonymous. I think it was a good ending for the series. What else could one expect from the story? I mean what could make the ending so special? Harry lived on and had children, that's cool. It was sort of an ending that I would expect from J.K because it began as a children's story, so it should end like a children's story.

The ending in the last harry potter book has me understanding both sides in the argument. J.K.'s end ing did tie up all the loose ends to the story and, it did end as most fantasy stories end with a happy or semi happy ending. It even gave a glimpse into the future to see harry's family.
The only problem is that the stories ending was rushed and it closed very poorly which ruined the book to me.
